Latest news from Cr Macdonald

Like many of our residents, I enjoy cycling and walking along our creeks and waterways. While they are beautiful backdrops, they are also vital ecosystems for our native flora and fauna. Council is committed to maintaining these ecosystems and is working with other agencies, including Melbourne Water and Yarra Valley Water, to protect and enhance our creeks.

The Enhance Dandenong Creek project has commenced and will see the removal of 830 metres of underground pipes to re-create the original open waterway. Works are underway by Melbourne Water with some detours in place. I’m looking forward to the renewed vegetation of the area and the improved habitat for our native wildlife when the project is completed mid-year.

Council is also working on future improvements to our creeks and waterways including Tarralla Creek.
