Preparation of Council Plan 2017-2021 (2018/19 Update) and Budget 2018
At its meeting on 9 April 2018, Maroondah City Council (‘the Council’) resolved that the Draft Council Plan 2017-2021 (2018/19 Update) and the Proposed Budget 2018/2019 (“the Budget”) presented to that meeting and prepared for the purposes of the Local Government Act 1989 (‘the Act’), be released for public inspection and comment.
The Council Plan 2017-2021 (2018/19 Update) sets the Council’s key directions and priority actions for the medium term to work towards the aspirations of the Maroondah community looking ahead to the year 2040 in alignment with Maroondah 2040: Our future together. It also lists priority actions to be undertaken over the 2018/19 to 2020/21 period to work toward the achievement of these outcome areas.
The Budget relates to the 2018/19 financial year and documents the financial and non financial resources required by Council to implement the outcomes, key directions and priority actions identified in the Council Plan.
Copies of the Council Plan and the Budget are available for inspection from Friday 13 April 2018 to Friday 11 May 2018 inclusive at the following sites:
- City Offices Service Centre, Braeside Avenue, Ringwood between 8.30am and 5.00pm on Monday-Friday;
- Civic Square Service Centre, Croydon between 8.30am and 5.00pm on Monday-Friday;
- Realm, Ringwood Town Square, Ringwood between 9.00am and 8.00pm on Monday-Friday and 10.00am and 5.00pm on Saturday and Sunday;
- Croydon Library during normal opening hours; and
- ·online at www.maroondah.vic.gov.au
Any person wishing to make a written submission on a proposal contained in the Council Plan and/or the Budget must do so before 5.00pm on Friday 11 May 2018. Where such person wishes to address Council (in person or by a person acting on his or her behalf) regarding their submission, that wish must be indicated in the submission. All submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Act.

A meeting of a Committee of Council will be held on Wednesday 16 May 2018 at 7.30pm to consider submissions on the Council Plan and the Budget. Council will receive the recommendations of the Committee and consider the adoption of the Council Plan and the Budget at a meeting of Council to be held on Monday 21 May 2018 at 7.30pm.
