Morinda Street, Ringwood East Footpath Construction
- Project categoryFootpaths
- StatusCompleted
The construction of footpaths in Morinda Street, Ringwood East are now complete.
As part of Council’s commitment to the construction of footpaths in Maroondah to improve pedestrian access and safety, Council secured funding for a new footpath on the western side of Morinda Street, Ringwood East. This forms part of Council’s Principal Pedestrian Network that completes the missing link of footpath between the north side of Loma Street and south side of Railway Avenue.
The improvements include:
- Construction of a concrete footpath on the western side of Morinda Street, between Railway Avenue and Loma Street
- Reconstruction of some vehicle crossings along the extent of works to allow the concrete footpath to extend through the vehicle crossing at compliant grades.
- Removal of one (1) street tree to construct the footpath due to their significant root systems impacting vehicle crossings, nature strip and the footpath
