Infrastructure upgrades are being made to shopping centres across Maroondah in 2022.
Council has identified four local shopping centres for infrastructure upgrades in 2022. These include:
- Loughnan Road, Ringwood
- Paul Street, Croydon
- Bayswater Road, Croydon South
- Old Lilydale Road, Ringwood East
These centres have been chosen for upgrades due to the need to improve pedestrian safety and access as well as the need to renew and improve the infrastructure of the precincts.
The upgrades made will include new footpaths, seating, garden beds, plants and landscaping works.
This project supports local Maroondah businesses who have experienced hardship over the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and stay at home restrictions.
Council are working closely with these businesses to provide welcoming spaces for residents to support local.
Other improvements are also being made across all shopping centres in Maroondah and will include new bins and seating upgrades.
Works are currently being completed by Council's Operations team and are scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2022.
