Council has completed the installation of safety fencing at Springfield Park.

To ensure gridiron can be played safely at Springfield Park, a safety fence will be installed at the Mt Dandenong Road end.

The fence will be 44 metres in length and 18 metres high with black powder coated poles and strong netting in between. The fence is necessary due to the loss of large cypress trees during the June 2021 storms that previously assisted with ball management.

The installation process is expected to last 4 to 6 weeks depending on weather conditions.
