Mend your worn-out woollens and make them more wonderful with mending expert Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald, author of the book Modern Mending.
Darning uses yarn or thread to magically make new fabric in place of a hole, and strengthen threadbare clothing to make it last longer.

In this class you’ll learn how to use blanket stitch as the building block for honeycomb darning. It's ideal for threadbare socks and other items, but can be used to repair holes as well, in both knit and woven fabrics.

Honeycomb darning is more fun than traditional woven darning; once you try it, you won’t want to stop!
This class will focus on creative, visible mending, for maximum fun and ease of learning, but you’ll learn how to apply methods learned in this class to create subtle, blended mends, too.

Students are required to bring:
- socks, tea towel, tote bag, or fabric for darning practice
- sharp scissors

Each student will receive darning needles, yarn/thread for practice at the workshop. Additional mending books and supplies will be available for purchase on the day.
