 About MYWA

MYWA provides a paid opportunity for young people aged 15 to 25 to collaborate with Council for 12 months, ensuring that the voices and perspectives of young people are included in decision-making.

What we do

As part of MYWA, young people work with the Council to:

  • Provide their perspectives to inform Council strategies, plans and projects
  • Undertake consultations with Council teams to explore meaningful ways to engage with young people
  • Participate in Council events, bringing youth voice to the front of these activities

Benefits of joining MYWA

  • MYWA offers young people the chance to develop and apply leadership and professional skills, while utilising their strengths to make a positive impact in their community
  • Members work collaboratively with a team of likeminded young people, building connections in a fun and supportive environment
