Join Sally Brownbill for a hands-on workshop. Participants will receive a photographic brief that encourages them to capture images to tell a story. All participants are invited to bring either a Digital SLR or their phone camera to take part. Sally Brownbill is the creator of The Brownbill Effect, an organisation dedicated to supporting creatives, particularly photographers, through portfolio development, career guidance and industry insight.Drawing on years of experience in education, working alongside designers and photographers, and judging competitions, Sally has developed a sharp eye for curating folios that not only showcase technical skill, but also tell compelling visual stories. In this workshop, Sally will share examples of folios she has developed with professional commercial photographers and lead the group through a creative exercise. Sally will share tales of her unique career journey, from writing two books, to creating the photography podcast When Harri Met Sally and exploring the very different processes behind bringing each of these projects to life. Guided by Sally’s supportive and constructive approach, the workshop will conclude with a group critique designed to build confidence, strengthen creative thinking and offer fresh perspectives on participant’s work. This session is an opportunity to develop new ways of seeing, connect with other creatives and gain valuable insight into the arts of visual storytelling. This workshop will be valuable for creatives wanting to hear about creative career development and learning about building strong visual folios.
