Ringwood Art Society celebrates 60 years with RETRO, an exhibition at Maroondah Federation Estate that reflects on continuity and change.

This exhibition honours the traditions, influences and creative spirit that have been built by Ringwood Art Society members over this time. RETRO becomes a way to revisit the ideas, styles and inspirations that have shaped us, and to see them anew through fresh eyes.

Across six decades, Ringwood Art Society has grown and adapted alongside changing artistic movements, materials and art practices. What has remained constant is a shared love of making art, experimenting, learning and responding to the world around us.

The works on display at Maroondah Federation Estate speak both to where we have come from and the ways in which we continue to evolve. RETRO is a celebration! It celebrates Ringwood Art Society’s creative foundations, our ongoing curiosity and individual artists connecting as a creative community that continues to grow together.

About Ringwood Art Society

Ringwood Art Society brings together a diverse group of artists who share a passion for creative practice and visual storytelling. With roots stretching back to 1966, the Society has continued to evolve through the work of its members, embracing new ideas, mediums and ways of making. Today, artists work across painting, drawing, printmaking and mixed media, exploring a wide range of subjects and styles, from nature and landscape to still life, abstraction and contemporary interpretation.
