Jason Deane, Sky Dreaming, 2025, acrylic and ochre on canvas
Join us this NAIDOC week for a 90-minute guided tour with Wemba Wemba artist Jason Deane together with Arts in Maroondah team members to celebrate First Peoples art and culture in the Ringwood arts precinct.
Commencing at the current ArtSpace at Realm exhibition 50 Years of Deadly: NAIDOC Week Posters 1976-2026, the tour will proceed to Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery for an artist-led viewing of Jason’s solo exhibition From Darkness to Light: A Journey Through Country and Spirit and an opportunity to visit Murrawarri artist Garen Smith and Belinda Mason’s exhibition Serving Country.
The tour will take in key public artworks along the way, highlighting the visibility of artworks by First Peoples artists in the heart of the Ringwood arts precinct.
Please be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, and be prepared with water bottle, sunscreen, and rain protection if necessary.
