About the artists

Reeva Ashton - In Pursuit of Real Life

Ashton has a Graduate Diploma in Psychology from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Music (Songwriting) from JMC Academy and also studied towards a Bachelor of Fine Art (Visual) at the Victorian College of the Arts.

Her current exhibition is a series of still life paintings, some of which explore the dialectical conjunction between digital and traditional, abstract and realism. Ashton’s work combines her interests in merging photographic media, digital manipulation, and psychology, with paint. Florals are an ongoing subject matter, with the current exhibition demonstrating a clear exploration in constructing flowers with the application of paint.

Meredith Simpson

Simpson has a Bachelor of Teaching from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne. She’s a part time primary school art teacher and full-time mum. During the 2020 lock-down, Simpson took advantage of the extra time at home to focus on creating and developing her own artwork. Creating art brings her happiness, especially when creating for others to appreciate. She especially loves drawing our native wildlife and enjoys working with pastels, water-colour, and acrylic paints.
