DISillusion/DISsolution is a response to the failure of the 2023 referendum on the Aboriginal and Torres Islander Voice. The exhibition reflects artist megan evans’ discomfort with this outcome and her hope for a united and healing future—one where truth and integrity bridge divides—through painting, sculpture, video, and fabric.

“The result of the referendum deeply hurt many—especially my Aboriginal friends and family. I felt grief and uncertainty too. For over 15 years, my work has explored the importance of acknowledging and taking responsibility for my settler-colonial ancestors.” - megan evans
