The Arts Lounge at Wyreena is an art space for artists to exhibit their work in a vibrant, accessible setting.

About the artists

Joanne Pearcy

Joanne’s a wildlife artist, working Mum and Mooroolbark resident who creates artworks with a focus on Australia's threatened and endangered species.

With a passion for the conservation of wildlife and environment, she hopes her art will help grow the viewer's awareness of nature's diversity and intrinsic value. Capturing the subject's personality and unique features in the artwork helps to create a connection to the creatures we share our land and homes with. Her medium of choice is colour pencil, but she is also developing a new style with acrylic paints.

Elena Leong

Elena Leong is based in the outer suburbs of Melbourne and loves to go for long walks near where she lives, surrounded by the beauty of the Australian bush.

Elena works in many media and often her inspiration comes from the natural world. She has the flexibility to tackle many subjects and for her current exhibition she explores the themes of friendship and connections, and the love, closeness and generosity that comes from such relationships. These are works that will delight children and the young at heart alike.
