The Arts Lounge at Wyreena is an art space for artists to exhibit their work in a vibrant, accessible setting.

During March through to May, Wyreena’s Arts Lounge featured bird-themed paintings by Jody Pratt and Lisa Coutts (in Room 1) and mixed media landscape art by Ana Hanson (Room 2).

About the artists

Jody Pratt & Lisa Coutts

In the Birds Eye View exhibition, both Jody and Lisa explore the idea of how birds exist in our modern society. They are an ever-present part of our everyday lives, in our yards, on our walks, on our lunch breaks, in the sky above and morning birdsong. Our bird’s familiarity and peoples' busy lifestyles mean they are often passed by, overlooked for their charm, and underappreciated for the joy they bring us. These artworks are a celebration of the unique lives’ birds enjoy and us stopping to enjoy those lives in our own.

Ana Hanson

Ana’s art explores the beauty of the Australian landscape through a contemporary lens. She celebrates the natural world while exploring the ways that modernity and contemporary life infuses her practice. Ana’s work reflects the duality of our modern existence - a world where screens often dominate our attention, while nature is too often relegated to the periphery. The Spirit of Places draws upon the evocative nature of the bush, exploring the profound energy of the Australian landscape. Depicting scenes from the natural landscapes of Victoria and New South Wales, this collection serves as a meditation on how we, as individuals, relate to the spaces around us.
