Each term Wyreena Community Arts Centre offers a range of short and ongoing classes in the creative arts, where beginners and the more experienced are always catered for. Classes include painting and drawing, pottery, sculpture, mosaics, relaxation classes and much more.

Drawing Nature - Botanic and Wildlife

Journey through nature with art by learning to realistically draw and paint botanic and wildlife subjects in a variety of mediums including graphite, watercolour, ink pen and coloured pencil. All levels catered for.

Pottery

You will have the opportunity to create ceramics by hand-building as well as using the wheel. You'll learn glazing techniques to produce beautifully finished pieces. All levels catered for. Please note these are not wheel-only classes.

  • Coloured glazes are not supplied by Wyreena.
  • Firing is $9 per kilo which must be paid before the work is fired.

Chair Yoga

Experience the physical and mental benefits of yoga, in this special class adapted for people with mobility limitations. All poses are done using a chair for support, allowing students to focus on breath, strength and safe stretching. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a blanket.

Mixed media art classes

Course information
Learn to use different mediums to explore, create and as an opportunity to express self through art in a positive and individual way. You’ll leave class with a sense of achievement. Reflection is encouraged through writing or talking. The work produced is purposeful - entering an exhibition, finding a new hobby or love. Developing social skills and connection is also a critical element.
