Expressions of Interest now open for the Conservatory Café tenancy at Wyreena.

Maroondah City Council invites expressions of interest from experienced caterers/café operators to take up a tenancy of the Conservatory Café at Wyreena Community Arts Centre. One of Council’s major arts facilities located in Croydon, Wyreena offers a wide range of arts classes, experiences, events and spaces for hire for community, cultural groups and creative businesses. The delightful outdoor gardens and Playspace also attract many visitors throughout the year. The Café is a much-loved feature of this Arts Centre.

About the opportunity

Wyreena Community Arts Centre is a historical property in Melbourne’s Eastern suburb of Croydon. The facility is owned and operated by the City of Maroondah and is set on four acres of gardens and features a popular Playspace, Café, Arts Lounge exhibition space, Art Classes, spaces for hire and outdoor markets and events. The Cafe adjoins the Arts Lounge exhibition space and reception area of the main building and is in close proximity to the Playspace. 

Wyreena is a treasured Arts Centre attracting over 80,000 visitors per year and has been operating for almost 50 years, attracting people of all ages from Maroondah and all over Melbourne.  The Conservatory Café was built in the late 1990’s and is currently being re-built, with renewal works expected to be complete later in 2026. We are now seeking a new operator to bring this space to life!

This is a unique opportunity to run a Café and function space, within a renewed, modern conservatory design. Council is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced café operator to manage this unique space.
